I am a professor in the Department of Social Work at Gallaudet. We want to let CODA know about a scholarship opportunity for its membership and are hoping you can help us get the word out.
Our MSW program has a specialization in school social work with deaf and hard of hearing children in schools. We have recently received a grant from the U.S. Department of Education called *Training School Social Workers to Meet the Educational and Emotional Needs of Diverse Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children.***
This means that for the next four years we will be training school social work graduate students to work with diverse groups of deaf and hard of hearing children in educational programs throughout the United States. Each trainee will receive 1/2 tuition waiver and a generous stipend. We have welcomed our first group of trainees and scholarship recipients this fall.
We are now beginning recruitment for academic years
2010-2013. I am attaching a flyer with information on our program
which we would like to distribute as widely as possible.
